I've had two. After my first one that beeped every few seconds while temping, I purchased one that is silent between the first and last beep. It helps drive my husband less crazy about the temping in the morning. I use the CVS brand.
I bought the only digital bbt i could find at walgreens. I think it is bd and beeps annoyingly while it is doing its thing. I put a piece of tape over the sound opening to help keep it quieter.
I bought the one at Target (I think it's the Target brand and it's digital, pink and white, & it was the only one they had on the shelf.) It only beeps when it's done. I like it.
If you wake up early and it's still dark you may want to buy one that has a light on it so you can see the temp. Mine doesn't have a light, but it's always light out when I temp so it doesn't matter to me.
