We are all thinking about being pregnant, blue or pink, babies, recovery and the first year. (well I am at least)
but then our babies will get bigger and go to school. My husband and I are both teachers. This story makes me very, very angry.
This 3 year old girl was suspended for one month, because of "potty training issues". I would have a fit and pull my kid from that school, never to go back again.
what would you do?
here's the article:

Re: how would you deal with this?
I'm an early childhood person and when looking at daycares (especially ones that have decent preschool programs) I always ask if potty training is a requirement for the 3's class. The GOOD school always (in my experience) say that they move at the readiness of the child. So really, good. Expel my kid for not being potty trained because you've just tipped me off that your school philosophy SUCKS.
Okay, so I read the whole article, and really, I think it's a lot to expect of a 3 year old to be fully potty trained, but if I were the Rosso's, I don't think I'd have Zoe in preschool at all. Obviously she had more accidents in the preschool situation, and 3 is really young to be in a daily program. I'd say that her accidents tell me she's not ready for preschool.
The school really shouldn't be making such a big deal out of it, especially if she cleans up after herself, but having potty accidents can be stressful for kids, and I'd want to help my kid avoid that stress as much as possible, and if that means teaching at home for another year (3 is really, really young), then that's fine.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
I don't get the suspension thing... BUT, I can tell you, it sucks being on the teaching end of this. When I was teaching preschool, the administration made US change the "accidents" and forbid us from sending the child to the nurse. Ya... I really got my Master's to change dirty underpants... Even at 4 & 5, lots of kids still had accidents...
And the unfortunate thing is, some parents just don't care enough to potty train them correctly. They just expect the teachers to deal with it.
BFP #3 via cancelled IUI ~ C (2lb 3oz; HELLP) 5/16/11
BFP #4 via the natural (free!) way ~ E (8lb 11oz) 9/13/12
I'm with the school on this one. The preschool DD will go to in the fall (and that I am on the board of) has a potty training policy-- children must be potty trained to attend. To me, 8 accidents in a month means the child is not fully potty trained and needs more work at home or in a childcare environment with enough staff to help. Yes, accidents happen, but DD hasn't had 8 accidents in a month even in the first few weeks we were potty training (which was before she was 2 even). I feel for the parents, but this child obviously needs extra help in this area and a preschool environment isn't the place for that.
ETA: I will say, though, that if this was based on only one month I'd be much more upset. It sounds like its been going on for at least two months and I think that's ample time for the parents to address the problem.
