New to CD question

I'm sure that this question gets asked a ton on here but how many diaper covers do I need? I have about 30 prefolds with no covers. I'm wanting to get a good idea of cost for the covers but I have no idea how many I need. Thanks ladies!

    I've ended up with 3 XS and 3 SM bummi super whisper wraps, and 3 thirsties duos size 1 (fits NB-M).

    If you want to cloth diaper from day 1, you probably want some with umbilical cutouts, like bummis super brite or thirsties sized covers.

    I've bought used, and the price has ranged from $3 (bought with a bunch of other stuff) to $8 (thirsties duos). New, they're $5-$15ish.

    For DS I started out with 4-5 xs and 5 s covers. I made due with what I had because at the time I had just started CDing and didn't have the $ to put into everything all at once.

    Now with DD I have 7xs covers got two more) and this was perfect for this stage. I still have the 5 s covers and think that'll be more than enough.
