We moved about a month ago and since then I've been battling diaper laundry. We've had some stink issues -- we use microfiber and I've had to start bleaching my inserts every other week or so. I'm also now having issues with some mild diaper rash - it's more like red, dry patches. Doesn't seem to bother her, but it bugs me. And now I've started to have trouble with staining.
We have well water now, so the water is pretty darn hard. We currently use RnG Hard Rock, but I'm experimenting. I have some Lulu's In the Fluff I sometimes use as well, but it's not particularly strong. It makes a nice detergent for a quick prewash though...
Re: Help me with my well water and diaper washing routine!
I haven't done diaper laundry on well water, but I grew up on it for all our regular laundry. I'd suggest adding some Calgon water softener to the wash cycle (Green Mountain Diapers says it's safe). It should be found near where the detergent is in the store (or on Amazon):
Also helps prevent iron stains and such on your clothes.
