TTC After a Loss

I need to get away

DH and I need a quick vacay. I work this weekend but am off next weekend so we were thinking of getting away. We would probably leave Friday evening, and come back Sunday. Someplace close since we don't want to travel too far. Even if we just go and hang out in the hotel room and relax, I'm fine with that!

Any of you gals take quick vacays with your DH? And what do you do?

Re: I need to get away

  • Ah! That sounds so fabulous!  We haven't planned any getaways but when we do it's usually to Vegas :)

I love camping! However, we are not someplace warm, so that's got to wait a few more months! I do love the Oregon Coast, not sure though when it'll be warm enough for me to go.

I don't ski, but love the snow! Ooh, it would be nice to go to a lodge somewhere...maybe I'll look into that.

  • Yay for a mini-vacation!  Before the Border required a passport to go to Canada, DH and I would go to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.  It is absolutely gorgeous and has lots of things to do (like carnival games, wax museums, nightclubs and a casino).  One night, there was a Labyinth attraction there and it took us an hour and a half to get out of.  We stayed right in town and we had a great time (even a hot tub in our room too).

I hope you too have fun in whatever you decide to do.

Because of the great "Snow"vember of 2015, my medicated cycle was cancelled.  However, we were blessed with our little rainbow baby due on 8/14/15!  Baby J had other plans and decided to make his grand ole entrance on 7/4/2015!

Surprise!  Our little girl entered this world on 12/8/2016 after her eviction notice was long past due.  Our little turkey baby turned into a snow baby!

I haven't been to Canada in forever! I've always wanted to go again, but yeah, my passport wouldn't be ready by next weekend! I haven't updated it after I got married, I've just been putting it off.

I know a place not too far away you could go to! Wink

What about Leavenworth? There's a place on the Yakima River too, it's like a fishing lodge, but it looks nice driving past. Orrr Wenatchee orrr I know a small town with small town charm! Wink Just teasing! We loved Leavenworth, it's so relaxing to just stroll around and go in the shops, and you could probably find a nice hotel there to just relax in. We went there on our "minimoon".

Haha! Hmm, wonder where you are talking about!

Seriously though, there should be a PNW bumpie GTG. I'm not sure if they've had one recently or not, not that I can remember. I wonder if there are a lot of TTCAL girls from the PNW?

And it's been a few years since I've gone to Leavenworth. We usually go for the lights around Christmas.

Definitely. That should be on our agenda for 2011.

  • My DH took me away pretty suddenly the weekend after we found out about my little sister's pregnancy. I took the news really hard and I needed desperately to get away. We went camping to Joshua Tree National Park. It was beautiful! It was off season so we had the whole place to ourselves. We ended up in a campground with HUGE boulders. I loved it! I think as long as you get away from home and change the scenery, you'll manage to get a restful break. Good luck finding a place and keep us posted!
