oh. I have no idea. Probably the 50s. Wasn't in the US though. This was in Turkey.

Now I am curious what nationality they are.

they're Turkish, but they're both from tartar descent. I guess the best way to describe it is part Eastern European and part Asian. Most of my family on my mother's side looks Asian. In fact, as he got older, everyone thought my grandfather was an asian man with blue eyes.

I went to school with a kid that's family was from Russia but he was very Asian looking so obviously the Asian part of Russia but you never think of Russians that way.  It's so interesting to me.
