Just in case anyone else is curious I've found some great resources for teaching your child about Jesus and other religious figures if you're a non-religious family:
Meet Jesus: The Life and Lessons of a Beloved Teacher
Lighting a Lamp: A Diwali Story
The Children's Illustrated Bible
One World, Many Religions: The Way We Worship
We've also been showing ds lots of religious documentaries on instant Netflix in the last week or so. He likes to sit on the floor and play with Legos while watching a movie. Much of it is way over his head but he still is fascinated and asks us to watch them. So far he's watched several videos about Buddhism and a couple about the the life of Jesus. I've ordered a couple of the books listed above and am looking forward to seeing if our library has any of the others.
