Any opinions on teaching your religion to your children? I was raised in a Christian (Baptist) household and I am kind of conflicted as to how I will raise my son. Just curious about how other people feel about it! I am all ears!
My husband and I are raising our sons in the same faith we were both raised, judiaism. We practice at home and will send our kids to religious school classes when they are school age
I was raised non-religious, and found my faith and chose my religion as an adult (before meeting DH). DH was raised Catholic, went to Catholic school his whole life and his dad is a Deacon.
We are practicing Catholics- more towards the traditional side as well.
We are raising our kids in our faith. However, if they want to explore other faiths and/or question Catholicism- I will not hinder that. If they choose a different faith or no faith/religion then that's up to them. I hope I wouldn't guilt them too much.
We are raising out children in the Christian faith but I assume they will do their own soul searching as the years go on. They ask me questions daily about God..it's actually pretty interesting. I think my DD has a really soft heart towards God so we will see what the future holds. Our church has great programs for kids through HS...my nieces are involved and seem to enjoy it. But if they wig out on me in 7th grade and insist that they don't want to be involved I will not force them. Their faith is their choice..you can't force it on a person.
