Baby crack volume issues

First off, the "low" setting seems so loud to me! DD doesn't seem to mind, but it just seems loud. Also, my volume knob doesn't really seem to make a difference. It's like there is only one volume. It also makes scrathcing noises when I turn it up or down. I think mine is defective! I still have the receipt, so I'll prob take it back and exchange it, but I haven't gotten a chance.

 Anyone else have issues?

Also, I turned it on tonight to go all night, and I'm afraid when I go up there to nurse her, it will put me to sleep! It's hard enough to stay up when I feed her at 2 am.

Do you leave it on all night, or timer it? DD woke up shortly after it timed out last night, so I'm leaving it on allnight tonight.

I don't have volume issues but the projector has started to squeek when it is running. I  leave it on all night on a low volume setting.

Hmm, mine definitely doesn't make scratching noises. We run it all day and all night (I'm too lazy to turn it off and on). I might see if it's defective because it definitely shouldn't make those kinds of noises. What sound are you using it on? We use the rain and have had no problems with that

Does sound like you might have some volume issues.  Our crack machine can be turned very low that you almost can't hear it and it can be so loud that it is too loud.

We leave ours on all night.  DH likes the "rain" sound.

I have it on rain. The ocean sound is WAY too loud. I can hear it on the monitor for sure, but I guess its not that loud. I do think it's defective though, since I know it should be able to go lower than that.

 On the other hand, maybe I keep it, since I put DD down she has barely even moved! Only once to spit out her paci, and nothing since then!! .....tip-toing up the stairs just once to check her breathing.... Apparently she likes it!
