if you have boy/girl twins or trips

did you notice your boy(s) grow so much faster than your girl(s)?

Our son is huge in comparison to our daughter already. When they were born he only had her by 7 ounces and a half inch. But OMG he's massive compared to her now. The only thing she has him beat on is her head. She's like a little lollipop (which she totally gets from me, my head is too big for my body - think Giada DeLaurentiis, LOL).

Re: if you have boy/girl twins or trips

  • Give it time.  Landry was 4.2 lbs and Hudson was 5.9 at birth and she has a half pound and a half inch on him now.

  • My boy was 6 lbs 5oz at birth and my girl was 4 lbs 15.5 oz.  They were within an inch of each other lengthwise. At 2 months, she was 9lbs 7 oz and he was 14lbs 2 oz.  He went into 0-3 clothing way before she did, and now he's wearing a lot of 3-6 stuff comfortably and she's just gotten to where her 0-3 stuff doesn't look like a hefty bag on her.

I was in a store and someone said "Oh, I can tell they aren't identical because he's so much bigger than she is!"  ;)

*gigglesnort* was that the first clue? LMAO

  • DD1 and DS have been close in weight since birth, but now he's starting to break away. He's eating more, and he has about a 1/2 lb on her since our last pedi appt. He just seems much more solid to me than her. He outweighs our little peanut (DD2) by over two lbs.

I just love this!! HAHA. DD was almost an entire pound heavier than DS at birth (6lb 2oz vs 5lb 4oz). As of 2 months, DS had surpassed her weight and now at 7+ months he is 2lbs heavier! They eat practically the same amount and are the same length too, must just be their different metabolisms. Stick out tongue

  • DS was just a pound bigger at birth and an inch bigger. (4.3 and 3.2).  Then he was a good 2.5 - 3 pounds more.  At their 12 months they were about a pound apart.

  • Mine have always been very close in size actually.  DD's head has always been bigger, so people assume she's heavier, but really DS has always been an inch or so taller, and has always weighed a few ounces more except for about a 6 week period of time when DD weighed a bit more than him.  They go up a size in clothes within a week or two of each other, they go up in shoe size at almost the same time, and everything.  Their mega growth spurts have even always been at the same time.  I think it's kind of odd especially because they're different sexes.

  • My son is at least 4lb heavier than my girls.  He was born heavier too.  He is actually following the same growth pattern as my oldest, and my girls are just small (to me anyway).

  • DS only outweighed DD by 7 oz at birth, but had an inch and a half on her in length.  Last time we measured/weighed, he's only about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch taller than her now, but outweighs her by almost a pound.  Not too different.....

  • They were 3 ozs different at birth.  Now at 5 mos, they are 3 lbs different!!! He's super stalky and she's dainty.  Thankfully it's not opposite.
  • My baby girl is actually bigger than our baby boy.  She weighed almost 1.5 lbs more than him at birth and was an inch longer.  At their 2 month appt, she was 1 lb and 2 inches bigger.  Cole is constantly moving. They eat practically the same amounts, I think he just burns more calories!
  • We are the opposite. Zoe was exactly a lb less at birth and now she's 2.5 lbs more.
  • My b/g twins weighed the exact same amount when they were born (4 lbs, 12 oz), but DD was a little longer. Almost immediately though, we could tell that DS was gaining weight much faster. He has consistently been 1.5 lbs heavier than DD at their checkups (and at 12 mos he was finally taller than she was too.)

  • DS had 2oz on DD at birth, however by the 2nd month she had taken off and now outweighs him by 5lbs. She is the better eater, always has been and DS is always on the go.

  • My DS was 9 oz. bigger at birth and is now 2+ pounds bigger!  The gap between them continues to widen!  But it's fine...it's kind of cute, since he's the "younger" brother, technically!
  • Hi, Yep DS is so much bigger...  at birth Joseph was 6.12 & Addisyn was 5.8.  Currently Addi is 18.11lbs & he's around 23lbs (if not more) they go for there one year appt on 2/17 so I'll find out for sure, but I know Addi's weight is right cuz she was sick & went to the doc this past Monday.  He's also alittle less then a head taller he's in 12 month clothing & has been for a couple months & she just now got in 6-9 month clothing.  Also he's walking & she' not, but she climbs stairs & he doesn't so it makes up.  LOL

  • Well considering Tuck was 10oz smaller than Jules at birth, no.  Jules is HUGE compared to Tuck, like she looks like Buddah.

  • My daughter was 11 oz. bigger than my son at birth, (he was 4.1 and she was 4.12) and once they started really gaining weight, he quickly surpassed her.  They are 5 now, and he's 2 inches taller than her and 7 lbs. heavier!  They both have good appetites and are equally as active, so it must be genetics, I guess!
