So I was showing my mom some stuff that I loved in catalogs/online. I really want this
bassinet from Land of Nod. Last night my mom called and said her and my father really wanted to buy it for the baby, and that she felt bad that she can't afford to buy me ALL of the furniture. I was just touched that she wanted to get me something so special -- and so thankful. Go MOM! She said if not that one, my dad would have made me one. So sweet.
Re: Wow, Mom! Thanks, that is so sweet....
Very similarly my Mom offered to buy our crib for DS. I think it's just such a sweet gesture in their wanting to provide something lasting for LO.
ETA: That bassinet is beautiful!
After 3 failed Clomid+TI cycles, DD was conceived with IUI#1
TTC #2
Clomid 50 mg + IUI#1 = BFP, m/c and D&C at 7w1d
Clomid 50mg + IUI#2 = BFN
Clomid 100mg + IUI#3 = BFN
Lupron + Follistim + IVF#1 = 11ER, 10M, 10F, ET of 1 expanded BBA 5-day blast, 2 Frosties. BFP! Beta 10/13 = 264! Beta 10/15 = 702! EDD 6/21/14
That is very sweet but that is a lot to spend on a bassinet IMO. We only used ours for maybe 3 months and then DD was in her crib. If it were me, I would rather they buy the crib than a bassinet but that is just me. It is a very pretty bassinet though.
ETA: I did not mean to sound snarky. As a 2nd time mom, I just realize the importance of some things and the lack of importance for others. DD's bassinet was a gift from my sister. DD was in it for 3 months and now it sits in the corner in her room and holds her stuffed animals. lol We will use it for new baby but only for about 3 months as well.
Wow! That's so sweet!! Congrats!
Just curious, how long do babies normally sleep in a bassinet?
So Sweet! What cowinkidink, I picked the same bassinet in expresso! Congrats!
Love it! I am torn between the two colors because my bedroom furniture is a bit dark (Louis Philippe style), but probably not as dark as the espresso. Decisions....
You're right!
And it was better for me to just tell her that it really bothered me.
I was kind of shocked she was going to get it, because it is expensive. She said she felt like I would use it for all of my babies so she didn't mind. My parents don't have a lot of money to throw around so I really appreciate it. It was my "dream" bassinet. I know a lot of women who get REALLY foo-foo ones and that's just not me, so I loved this style.
