  • The reason you have to wash natural fibres several times is to remove the plant-based oils and make them absorbent. Synthetics don't have oils - you're just washing them to make sure they're clean. That's what I've gathered, anyway.

    That's what I keep reading, but I've heard some people say they prepped their synthetics several times and I wasn't sure which was the best way to go.

    They do this because they don't know why you "prep". :) PP is correct about why you prep natural fibers several times.
