I just got the DSNG and Chicco carseats at my shower over the weekend...and I am starting to second guess my choice. When I originally registered, I didn't know that the Chicco seats don't actually snap in, and when I found out I just figured that it would work out okay because they still fit just with an extra step. But, now I'm not so sure (I haven't actually tried it yet, they are still in their boxes). Does anyone have the DSNG with the Chicco seats? Does the combo work okay for you? Thanks!!
Re: DSNG & Chicco Keyfit
They don't snap in, so you have to buckle a strap over each carseat. It doesn't actually seem that difficult, I would just rather that it snapped in. If you google, there's a video that will come up showing the setup.
I'm not really sure what my second choice would be! I was pretty set on the Chicco seats...maybe the Graco Snugride.
this...there are metal rods that are used with other carseats that you have to take off to use with the chiccos. i watched a you tube video to learn how they fit in. i love my car seats
We used a Chicco with a single SNG for my older son, and really loved both. That strap just takes a second to snap in place. But, I did notice that other people's carseats fit better on grocery carts than my Chicco did -- ours rested okay in the seat area, but didn't snap on or anything.
We still got a second Chicco carseat for these babies -- it was a great overall carseat.
They don't fit on shopping carts because they are built not to. It is unsafe to put car seats up there and Chicco was trying to prevent this. The American Academy of Pediatrics published an article recommending against it and citing all of the dangers if you felt like looking it up.
We have the Keyfits and the DSNG and love them both. Not a big deal that they don't snap in and it's a breeze to work with the strap.
