DS has pneumonia :(

and a double ear infection. He's never even been on antibiotics so he's really never been sick before. He's been pretty much miserable since Saturday and he is not really showing improvement yet (first dose of antibiotics was last night). He refuses all food and has only had a little milk and some water since Monday night. I'm so worried about him.

Please tell me your kid has had pneumonia and was fine.

My kids haven't had pneumonia but I just wanted to say that sucks.  Hope he feels better soon.

Oh no! Poor little guy.   I hope he feels better soon.

I had pneumonia when I was a teenager, and the details are foggy, but I recovered just fine. ((hugs))

DS developed pneumonia shortly after birth (he was a nicu preemie), and again at 4 months when he had RSV. It sucked, but he was ok. Hope he feels better soon, it is the worst seeing the little ones feeling miserable.

Oh my goodness.  Poor guy.   We have never dealt with that, but the one time Cohen was on antibiotics, he had such a hard time with his digestive system.  I highly recommend giving him probiotics while he's on them.

I am giving him probiotics but he isn't drinking them or ANYTHING. I am super concerned about giving him the antibiotics on such an empty stomach but I don't really have much choice. He's sleeping now. I'm hoping after this nap he wakes up feeling like eating and drinking.

I've tried EVERYTHING...ice cream, popsicles, milk shakes, milk, water, candy even...he just isn't interested.

Both of my kids have had pneumonia... they also both have asthma.  Yeah it was pretty rough, but the asthma was the real complication for us.  The antibiotic should start making him feel better really soon and if it doesn't... time to go back to the doctor.

Dd has had pneumonia twice- the first time at 3 WEEKS old and the second time when she was 1 y/o. Neither time required any hospitalization, no breathing treatments, nothing notable. Just some strong antibiotics and both times she was fine. We caught it very early both times and it was still easy to treat.

He is eating! Yahoo! He woke up from his nap, is watching Cars and eating snacks/drinking some milk.

He's actually smiling too.

Hopefully, he's on the mend. We almost went to the ER last night...amazing what a little drugs can do!

Poor little man I am glad he's feeling better! I'll have to fill you in on Zoe's hospital stay while we were in FL. Seeing them so sick is awful.
