I know pregnancy can do crazy things to your body but I'm experiencing things I have never heard of.
I have always had 20/20 vision and now I am becoming increasingly nearsighted! Everything far away is blurry and it's so frustrating. Someone told me an eye doctor won't even see me during pregnancy because your vision can change so much. Has anyone else run in to this? I'm worried I'll need glasses soon!
The other fun (and completely embarrassing) symptom is bleeding hemorrhoids. And they are painful! I'm only 15 weeks along so it's not like I have a lot of baby weight pressing down on me yet. Has anyone had this or know what to do?
Re: Vision problems and bleeding hemorrhoids?!
I would call your eye doctor about the blurry vision - it could be related to pregnancy, but it could be a sign of something else. Better to get it checked out.
As for the hemorrhoids, ouch! I don't have any real advice, other than to try to OTC treatments available. Good luck!
My vision gets all wacky when I'm pregnant. I've noticed my vision getting a little worse already too. I'm due for a new prescription so I really hope that's not true about not seeing you while you're pg! That will be awful having to wait that long with blurry vision.
As far as hemorrhoids, could it be from being constipated?
I just went to my eye doctor, he didn't change my prescription even though my eyes were slightly worse because he thought it could be from pregnancy. I have to go back in September to be rechecked.
I have also had bleeding hemorrhoids. They are terrible and it hurts. I plan to talk to my doctor next week, will let you know if she gives me any great advice for dealing with them!
I do wear glasses, but my vision is getting worse and it's causing me headaches. It's completely untrue an eye doctor won't see you while pregnant. I did the first one, and I'm going again on Friday. It's just more likely your vision will change again after the baby comes.
I have also had bleeding internal hemorrhoids after my son and have had them a few times during this pregnancy as well. I had some serious problems after my son to the point they thought I may need surgery. Don't be afraid to call your doc if they're really bothering you...they can give you suppository meds that will help. I just started taking a stool softener and really increasing my fiber and water intake and it's helped a lot. Using Tucks and cortizone cream can help as well, but I'd discuss it with your doc.
Hope you feel better soon.
The eye problems could very well be pg-related. I talked to DH about it bc I have had the same problem with both pg (slow to focus far away and not as clear, and i don't wear glasses). He said that pregnancy makes your muscles relax more, including the ones in your eyes. For me it got back to normal after DS was born. If you're worried though talk to your OB and see if they think you should see an eye doc.
As for the hemi's, ya welcome to the club. Both pg's now I've had them, and post baby for awhile too they got bad. Suuuuuuuuuuucks!

You are not alone, in either of these.
I had Lasik surgery 2 years ago and never had issues. But I notice my vision is a bit blurrier right now, and it's because of the pregnancy. My vision hadn't changed for 4 years prior to the surgery and it hasn't changed in the last two years. I find during the work-week my eyes are blurrier because I'm staring at a computer screen all day, but on the weekends they're better because I'm not in front of the computer/tv/phone all the time. I recommend keeping drops on hand to make sure your eyes aren't drying out (which doesn't help with blurriness). However, if it gets too bad go see an eye doctor. You may need an adjustment just for pregnancy duration or they'll be able to talk to you about it.
As for hemmorhoids. Yeah... I get it time to time where they bleed. Take a stool softener if you're having a hard time w/ going (because that can cause them). My doctor told me Miralax, Colace, Metamucil are all okay to take during pregnancy.
Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I went to the eye doctor and they were very nice and helpful. They told me the muscles in my eyes are so tired that they aren't able to focus as well as they were before. This is causing me to have blurry vision and terrible headaches. He ordered me eyeglasses with prisms to help with this while I'm pregnant. That should allow my eyes to relax and ease my headaches!
