Breastfeeding

Breasts feel empty & DS's still hungry!

What do I do? Do I supplement formula? How do I make more milk to better feed my starving boy?

  • Just keep nursing.  Just because your breasts feel empty doesn't mean they are.  He is probably hitting a growth spurt and continuing to nurse will make your body make more milk.

i agree with this.  my breasts rarely feel full anymore (i have to go 4+ hours for them to even start getting heavy).

  • I actually just came on here to see if anyone was posting about this. I'm sure DD is going through a growth spurt because the last few days have been horrible. I feel like I have nothing left but she wants to eat constantly. She is crying hysterically right now because she can't get anything out. She'll latch on and pull off about 20 times before she gets so upset that I have to take her off completely. I'm going crazy over here! Glad to hear I'm not alone though. We just have to keep trying! Good luck.

  • Thank you for posting this. I was getting frustrated and worried that I wasn't making enough but I guess I better just let him suck away lol
