For the past 4 weeks at my appts I have had internals done and each week I am told I am 1 cm and 50% effaced and the baby's head is still a bit high. My doctors do not seem to be concerned that she is not moving at all. Not moveing lower, no more dilation, no more effacement. I know I have not past my due date yet (which is only 2 days) and since this is my first baby I can have her late. My question is though has anyone else's doc just kind of blew it off and was not the slightest bt concerned that the baby has been the same week after week? When will the doc be concerned to make a suggestion of what to do? I get I can go late and that alot of people can be dilated the dame for weeks but if the baby is not dropping any shouldn't that be a small cause for alarm such as maybe she will not fit. Any advise would help.
Re: Anyone else .....?
Internals basically mean nothing. You can stay there for weeks, or your water can break as you are reading this. They won't get concerned until you get the point where your Drs talk induction, which is typically 41-42 weeks.
I wouldn't be worried. All that sounds like to me, is baby simply isn't ready yet. Not that baby won't fit or anything like that.
Things can stay exactly the same for 6 weeks and then change in 20 minutes. Babies call the shots when it comes to these things. So just take a breath and you'll be fine. Promise.
