When would you call?

I posted last week that my platelet levels dropped to about 101K (which is pretty low...anything under 100K is risky for birth, no epi or spinal allowed)....saw my OB on thursday, she looked at the levels and said it was low but she wasn't worried yet. 20 min later i got a called from the office that the doc wanted me to repeat blood work this morning and she was putting a stat on the results so she could get them today and if my platelets were still low they wanted to induce me today. I didn't talk to my doctor and i was SO confused. Went for blood work at 8 AM. The lab told me my doc would have the results no later than noon....still haven't heard from my doctors office....I don't want to be a bother and call but I also don't want the day to go by and not hear anything.....when would you call!?

I know my office is closed between noon and 1 so maybe they got them but aren't there right now. I would call and see just for piece of mind. If they are on lunch usually there is a message and then you would know that is the reason at least. Good luck. I hope it all works out for you!

I would call about 1-1:30 just so to make sure you miss the lunch hour and do not get an answering machine. I seriously hate leaving messages versus talking directly with someone because sometimes it takes them a good couple hours to call me back. If I ever do get a voicemail I just hang up and try again in 15 minutes (yes I am one of those people).

Now! My doctor's office is also closed from 12-1 but I would call and see what the results are. If they aren't there, I wouldn't bother even leaving a message and just call back again at 1. One thing my nurse friend told me, "don't feel like you're bothering them. That's what they're there for and if you have to ask 100 questions, oh well!" In this case you only have a few questions but at least your mind will be at ease!

I would call NOW!  The worst is having to go through the night waiting.
