Not understanding my insurance

We have blue cross of MN with a $3000 deductible for each of us.  Everything I have read and been told says that they provide diagnostic coverage only, not IUI or IVF.  But apparently they are accepting the claims for our IUI and applying them to our deductible.  Why would it still be going towards our deductible when it says they offer no treatment coverage at all?  The positive is that they are still practically cutting our costs in half by applying their "allowed amount" discounts so our IUIs are more affordable than we thought!  I can't complain about what they are doing, it just doesn't make sense.

Could it be that you have coverage but just needed preauthorization?  My Re's office had to work with my insurance to get authorization.  Since we have MF issues as well they approved IVF w/ICSI.

I would check the family planning section of your benefit booklet and see what it says.
