not sure if my m/c started

I don't really know what to expect; I've been spotting for 2 weeks now but Sat and Sun I had a few hours of heavier bleeding and mild cramps, and that's happening again now. Is this it? Or is there more eventually? The doctor totally freaked me out and said it would be worse than labor but this is just like a period.

Im sure every gal is different but for me I had teeny tiny spots for one day but then Saturday my cramps were so bad they were in my back too. The bleeding was like a period on steriods, and im still bleeding today. Heavy heavy heavy! I hope this helps a little.

I went through the same thing with the spotting that got heavier. Depending on how far you are, there will be no question of when you have actuall miscarried. It was worse than a period, and for me I had rhythmic "contractions" for about an hour before I passed a large clot. I had previously experienced smaller clots, but this one was pretty large and unmistakeable. Once it was gone, the pain went away immediatly.

I hope that helps. I guess my best advice is that you will know when it happens, there won't be a question. Also, as far as a timeline, I think it took me about 2 weeks of bleeding before it actually happened.

Your symptoms are exactly like mine,  I spotted for 2 weeks until Thurs I started passing tissue and heavy bleeding with minor cramps.  Today was a whole new situation.  I have been having contractions that are very painful even though I took 800mg of ibuprofen.  I have been in tears twice and finally just took 2 percocet and after another hour the pains have finally subsided.  In the mean time I passed alot more clots.  Everyone is different but be prepared for the worse and def take the strong meds.

I spotted for about a week, and had a sharp, stabbing pain above my pubic bone that would come and go throughout the day.  The more I was on my feet, the more cramping and spotting.  When the severe cramping started, I also had a bright red flow, and lots of clots.  I endured the cramps for about 4 hours.  I finally passed a large mass of tissue, and like pp, the cramps lessened.  I didn't take any meds because I wasn't sure what I could or couldn't take if I was going to need a D&C.  Take care of yourself.

My experience sounds a lot like yours. I spotted for 2 weeks then I got what seemed to be a normal period with cramping and aches in my lower back.  My HCG levels were being monitored the whole time and after the "period-like" bleeding my HCG level was only 1 so I'm pretty sure that was the main event so to speak.  Sorry for your loss and I hope things get better for you.
