3rd Trimester

Maybe EPO does work?

I've been taking 1000 mg Evening Primrose Oil orally 3x daily since last Wednesday.  This weekend I've seen...umm...prepare for tmi...cream colored globby mucos when I wipe (about the size of a dime) three times.  No blood or anything - but I'm thinking I'm starting to lose pieces of my MP.

I hope this means progress :)

It's sad when mucous makes a person happy.

Re: Maybe EPO does work?

  • why are you in such a rush? You could still have 3 weeks left.

progress at 38 weeks is great, but you will never know if it was your body naturally getting ready or the EPO.

does everyone forget pregnancy is 40 weeks?

Got cha. I'm being induced on friday also for complications. I'm not doing anything, hoping I go on my own, but not doing much to convince my body. I've been through an induction before, it was hard and long but I was also 35 weeks and had no notice. Hopefully just being further along will help make it shorter this time.

    Good luck to you!

  • I get the wanting to go on your own, induction SUCKS!!! I was induced with DS, but I was also 39wks, and I HATED IT! I rather go on bedrest, and spend a wk or 2 shoot Im 30wks I rather spend the next 10wks confined to a hospital bed then be induced again! I went fast, and ok going fast is ok, but at the same time, your dialating REALLY fast (I was induced at 7am, he was born at 11am). It was painful bc of how fast things had to go, and I started at like 2 cm. Then I had such a bad reaction to the meds that I felt like I was on a small boat in the worst storm EVER and kept throwing up. But I hope baby goes on their own for you, so you dont have to be induced.

  • I hope it works for you and you go on your own. Keep being mentally positive-easier said than done- and hopefully your body follows suit and you go on your own. GL.

  • Honestly, I asked my doctor (who is about as close to as midwife as you can get in my town) about EPO, and she said it really doesn't do much.

OMG, thank you.  I am getting so annoyed lately because everyone that my DH works with keeps asking him if I have lost my plug, has my water broke, am I contracting, etc.  This all started at 37 weeks and they keep suggesting to him that he makes me walk all the time and have sex all the time.  He is a teacher and works on a team with all women.  I feel sorry for him because they keep bothering him but now it has progressed to calling and asking him these questions at home.  He told them I wasn't even due yet...when they started this at 37 weeks.  Yesterday he gets a call and he is like the due date isn't until Thursday and I heard "Well, if she hasn't had this baby by Tuesday I'm going to beat her."  Like what the heck, they are acting like I am 2 weeks past due.
