3rd Trimester

Pooping. May be TMI (sorry)

So throughout this pregnancy I have been pretty "backed up". Maybe going once a week, if I'm lucky. Now, for the past week I have been going everyday. Not complaining, for it's a relief but have read somewhere that this is the bodies natural way of cleaning itself out as it prepares for labor. I am only 33 weeks. Has anyone else experinced this??

  • it could also be that baby has shifted allowing things to pass a little easier. I have been the complete opposite for my pg. I was going like 2-3xa day then now it is an effort to go once. It just depends on what you ate, where baby is and how much water your drinking too. could also be ahormone shift allowing your bowels to work more effectively. It's not a reliable sign of labour if that's what you're thinking. helpful, but not reliable.
  • This happened to me with DD. I went atleast 5 times a day, and finally even though i still had the urge to go poop, there was nothing left to come out. Husband laughed because I would take off running, just to end up sitting in the bathroom. heh.
  • I think if it's watery, then it's more likely to be a sign of labor.  I haven't had much of a problem with it during the pregnancy.  However, I've noticed that some days I have to go 2-3 times.  I googled it and it seems like there are other women who experienced the same thing for weeks during 3rd tri, so I'm guessing it's not a sign of labor.

  • I've had this going on lately as well- I have been drinking a lot more water and juice lately though.
