DS has been waking up screaming on and off for a couple months. Tonight he's at it again, for the first time in over a week. We are letting him CIO, but I need you to stop me from going in there. It's been almost an hour!
I am a huge proponent of sleep training and know waaaay too much on the subject, I guess because I am slightly obsessive about my LO's sleep and making sure he gets the appropriate hours per day-
If he is waking so much during the night, etc and there is nothing medically wrong with him then it most likely he is over tired. Night wakings are a classic sign of overtired.
The most important thing you can do is to pick a method and be consistent. If you are going to do checks then always do checks, same with extinction. It is such an important skill you are teaching your LO...good for you!!
Re: I need some encouragement.. CIO
He's quiet now. This is especially hard because he's KNOWN how to sleep since 7 weeks old. He just started this business more recently.
Time for bed. I'm on call at work this weekend... hoping to get enough sleep just in case!
