If you had/have Elective EDD

I started the elective EDD when I was pregnant so I could take a maternity leave.  I have still been paying into it just in case I was ever injured or got sick...for those just in case moments.  I got so much less money than I had thought during my leave and now I'm  thinking about just dropping it.  It is a little scary dropping because I feel like as soon as I do BAM...something will happen. Always having  that "what if" in the back of my mind.  But, on the other hand I'm trying to cut costs back and if something were to happen to me at this point and I needed to collect it, they would evaluate the year that I was not working so I'd probably really get barely anything then.

If you own your own business and carry elecetive EDD did you only carry while pregnant and for maternity leave or do you always keep it on going?  Thanks!

    not sure, but have you looked into like using AFlac or something similar. Not sure if its cheaper, but it may be worth a shot?
