Hi Ladies,
I just got my blood test results, and it turns out that I have a genetic blood clotting disorder called Factor V Leiden. This explains all of my miscarriages. We're going in for a consult with a perinatologist on Feb 15th, but I wondered if anyone on this board has the same condition and could share your experiences? TIA!

I have Factor V as well, you can test positive as a homogeneous carrier or a heterogeneous carrier. One (and I'm sorry I can't remember which) is not as"bad" as the other as far as clotting risk goes. I have the lesser of the two and I take a baby aspirin daily. I did miscarry in November but that was due to a different issue with my uterus not the factor V. My gyno recommends I take the baby aspirin while TTC and during any pregnancy I am lucky enough to carry.
Hope this helps...
I was diagnosed with FVL after our most recent loss as well. My hematologist has me on Lovenox for any cycle we're TTC (just got done shooting myself up, actually). I am hetero, only 1 copy - this is better than homo. I also have a non-genetic clotting disorder, which might be why I had to go straight to Lovenox, versus baby aspirin.
The assumption at this point is that this is what has been causing our losses, since they've all been very early.
Feel free to message me if you have questions, though I'm definitely no expert. Good luck!
