Your favorite double stroller

It's time for me to buy a double stroller.  The boys are getting too big for just their seats in the snap n go.  I 'think' I want a front/back as opposed to the side by side...aren't the side by sides too big and bulky?

I think that's my first "want"...compact/least bulky.

2nd is I don't want to have to spend a small fortune but...if it's really is worth it, I will consider.  My BRU NEVER has doubles in stock for me to 'test'.

Thanks ladies!

  • My choice doesn't meet any of your requirements, but I'll rave anyway.  I personally didn't like the front/back... I prefer those for siblings, not kids of same age.  I feel like the kid in the back can't see or gets the short end of the stick. Just our opinion.

Most (I believe all though) SBS strollers fit in standard commercial doors.  We opted for the Bumbleride Indie Twin bc of its cushion seats, and drive.  Our other choice was the City Mini, but we felt it didn't offer the support we wanted.  Plus, the tires of the Bumbleride are more durable.  I have really only used it to walk to the park (boys are still in SNG) and am very impressed with how it "drives."  It is bulky.  We placed it in my trunk once, and it took up the entire trunk (I have a FX35).  I am looking to buy a larger vehicle with larger trunk so soon that issue will disappear for us.  Plus seats recline all the way, which I love!

  • I just posted about this same thing today. We have a DSNG, and a Valco Tri Mode (we just need to get the toddler seat so all 3 kiddos can ride). I have heard great things about the Valco. I did a quick test with it and loved it. It is big, bulky....but drives great. However, I need an umbrella type stroller for the car/errands. Of course, DH doesn't understand why I need more than 1 stroller.  Silly Man!

  • If you have a BuyBuyBaby close to you, they'll definitely have some in stock for you to "test drive".. I just bought the BJ City Select and LOVE it!...there is also the Kolcraft Contours double which is a lot cheaper, but when I test drove the Contours, I felt it was built a lot cheaper as well and not as sturdy as the City Select.  Just my honest opinion.  Have fun shopping !

BTW - the BJ City Select folds super flat, and can also fold WITH both seats attached, just not as flat.

  • I also have the BJ City Select and love it.  It folds really flat, which is a huge plus, and I can use it with the seats or car seats.
