So I was stalking my Amazon registry (shower not until mid-February, so I was surprised to see something was purchased)...I saw that someone bought THREE of our baby bathtub. I'm sure it was an error, I mean, why would someone buy 3 of them? Amazon lets you see who purchased it, so I clicked through and was able to see who purchased the 3 tubs.
Would you a.) not say anything, and just let the purchaser figure out their error when they review their order confirmation e-mail, or when 3 tubs show up at their house (Amazon does free returns on baby items, so it won't cost her anything to return--just a hassle); or b.) send her a quick e-mail to let her know that 3 have shown up as purchased by her, and just wanted to let her know that in case of an error? Not sure what to do here...
Re: Registry stalking/error question
No way. Don't e-mail someone and say "Hey I know you bought me something, and I know what... and you screwed up."
How do you know she wasn't buying gifts for other people and just did it all off of one registry, or how do you know she made the error? Maybe the site did.
I would think it was tacky if someone emailed me about something I bought them before I gave it to them.
Don't ever point out someone's mistake in gift buying, how rude! They probably bought them for someone else. Or will realize when 3 come to their house that they only needed one.
Let it go!
This. Either she'll figure it out when she receives 3 bathtubs in the mail, or she actually wanted 3 bathtubs and ordered them all at once.
I was amazed at how many gifts were marked off my registry that I never received.
