I'm at work, but think I might be in labor.

With DD, I bled the day before I went into labor and things progressed from there.  All back labor, but it was bad enough that I knew it was the real deal.

With this one, I've had lots of cramping and contractions the last couple of weeks, but no progress.  I think I'm starting to have back labor.  It actually started about an hour ago.  It's a low backache that feels a bit like a kidney infection and the pain comes and goes.  It's not getting any stronger yet, and they are so close together that I doubt it's real.  I'm also not bleeding and haven't noticed losing my mucous plug. 

I don't want to panic anyone here.  DD is at daycare, but I have someone who can take her home.  DH is at work, only 15 minutes away.  The hospital is not too far either.

I'm just anxiously awaiting to see if it'll either stop or get stronger.  I wish there was a hard and fast rule on when this thing officially gets started...

Sounds like you have it all in order. But go online and start timing those 'kidney pains'. If they grow more intense even after walking around, going to pee or drinking water then this might be it. Good luck!

keep moving and if the intensity and frequency pick up then you know it is real. i assume you will get a lunch break sometime, go for a walk and get some water. if it gets worse, that is a good indicator.

Also, time the pain.  I had back labor with my first and the tightening/pain in my back was definitely timeable (and didn't get better with walking).

I started having contractions at work too (with DS #1) ... I would time them for a while, and then if they're still there in say 30 minutes, I would go home, down a glass of water, and lay on your side for a while to see if they go away.

This!  I wish there was a light on my stomach that would come one when labor was beginning!

GL!! I've been having contractions off & on since the weekend...I have my appt tomorrow & will be bringing my bag just in case!
