TTC After a Loss

I have a OBGYN appt this afternoon--update

So today should have been my 9 week appt, but I decided not to cancel it and just talk to my dr about my CP and where we can go from here.  The thing is, she thinks it was a false positive.  I will bring my phone and show her the same pics I showed over the PGAL of the 3 different HPTs I took.  One digital, one blue dye (EPT) and one FRER test.  All show a line....faint, but the line is there.   I'm also showing her all my FF charts.  I hope this can convince her that indeed it was a CP and not a false positive.  I mean, I wish it was just a false positive, but in my heart, it was  CP.

I'll like to talk to her about getting some bloodwork done to see if there is any underlying issues that I should be aware of, too.

If she's still convinced that it was just a false positive, I might think of switching OBGYNs.

Update:

So I never got a phone call confirming my appt which puzzled me.  So I called a minute ago and they said it was cancelled.  I really don't recall the appt being canceled at all.  So now I had to make another appt for Mon. Jan 31st at 4:15.  Ughh!  Really?

  • Good Luck!

I hate when doctors think they know more about our bodies then we do..

  • Sounds like a good plan... and I totally agree with switching doctors if she isn't responsive.

  • GL at your appointment.  This journey is difficult enough without doctor's that aren't responsive.  I'll be thinking good thoughts for you.
  • Good luck! I'm glad you're taking control. I agree with you, if showing her charts and 3 + tests doesn't have her convinced, it's time to switch!

Definitely this.  Good luck at your appointment today and I hope that she either comes around or that you end up finding someone who is more responsive and caring.

Because of the great "Snow"vember of 2015, my medicated cycle was cancelled.  However, we were blessed with our little rainbow baby due on 8/14/15!  Baby J had other plans and decided to make his grand ole entrance on 7/4/2015!

Surprise!  Our little girl entered this world on 12/8/2016 after her eviction notice was long past due.  Our little turkey baby turned into a snow baby!

  • WTH? I think that OBGYN office is full of boo-boo heads! I'm sorry you have to wait again. It's ok though...in the meantime gather up your "ammo" so you go into that appt ready to kick @$$ and demand they do bloodwork.

  • When I asked when did this cancellation happened, they said 12/28 at 3:34 pm (they even gave me the time!) So I was thinking afterwards...what was I doing during that time, and I remembered! I was at the OBGYN clinic waiting my turn to speak to a dr. (not my dr, bc she wasn't in town) but another dr.  So I know I didn't make that cancellation myself.  It would've been nice to get some type of heads up.  Thank goodness I called, bc I would've been really pissed to go and find out I don't have an appt at all!

  • They probably canceled it when they found out you weren't pregnant anymore. That's what my doctor's office did with my pre-natal appointments.

I think you're right... if she insists that it was a false positive, maybe you need to look for a different doctor... and direct your current one to peeonastick.com lol

  • I am sorry that your appointment got cancelled without you knowing. That is definitely frustrating. I hope the Dr.'s office gets things figured out. Also, I agree with all the ladies on here that if your OB-Gyn isn't supportive or willing to work with you, definitely go find another one! I did that when mine wasn't giving me any answers when I was expecting. I switched and that is when I found out that I was going to lose the baby. It had been going on for nearly 2 months and the doc had no clue why he wasn't getting a clear shot of the baby in the u/s. I don't regret my decision to switch. It may have actually saved my life, since the other clinic actually saw a possibility of infection and I had to get a D&C two weeks later. Sorry for the extra rant. I know now that not all Dr.'s are good listeners and not all of them pay attention to what the patient is trying to tell them. Good luck!
