I wasn't home much this weekend or yesterday so just now I've been reading lots of stories and hearing on TV that there was quite a mixed feeling on how he performed at the GG's. I of course fell asleep about an hour into the show so I didn't get to see much of it, CRAP-I love these shows! What I did see was super funny, and I've always enjoyed him.
I guess he bashed plenty of Hollywoods finest? Some are saying he went to far where others are saying some celebs need to get over themselves and get a sense of humor!
So how was it?
Re: What did you think of the Golden Globes, and Ricky Gervais?

This exactly! He was great!
I thought Ricky was really funny! I laughed really hard when he introduced Tom Hanks and Tim Allen. I also thought it was pretty funny when he made a comment on how Steve Carrell is killing their cash cow. I figured Ricky would get some sort of backlashing though for some of his comments. Especially the one about helping the President of the Hollywood Foreign Press go to the bathroom.
Hollywood seriously needs to get over itself. How many awards shows do we have now? They just love congratulating themselves, don't they?
Also, his last comment of the night was my favorite. :-)
I think the only thing I remember is when he was picking on Hugh Heffner and his GF, something about how gross it would be to be WITH him. THAT was funny!!! I would love to find some clips on youtube, I'm sure that there is some!
Even though I love to watch and see what everyone is wearing, I sometimes don't even make it through an entire show. BUT, when you have someone like RG hosting, he makes them so much more entertaining! I would LOVE to see Robin Williams host one;)
YES! he was the best part of the show!
I loved Ricky on the GGs! :-) Here's a youtube link to some of his funniest jokes:
