NWR: visitng LA, what to do?

I'm going to LA (Cali) to visit my SIL with my husband and DD.  Any good family-friendly suggestions on what to do while we're there?  DD will be almost 18 mo at that point.

    The Getty Center is amazing

    The Getty Villa in Malibu is supposed to be really great, too, although we haven't been there yet.

    I've also heard that the LA public library is really amazing and kid-friendly, though we also haven't been there yet.

    There's a great farmer's market in Santa Monica on Sundays at Main and Ocean Park that has tons of good food plus pony rides and a band.

    The old carousel at Santa Monica Pier is also really cool.

    The Huntington Library in Pasadena...they have amazing botanical gardens where your baby can run around and play. And the ideas from pp as well.
