Hi all,
You might remember my previous post complaining/venting how DD's sleep and feeding routine changed for the worse the exact day that I returned to work.
Summary: She used to sleep STTN and EBF. After I went back to work, she started to wake up 3-5 times a night to eat and it was driving me bonkers due to sleep deprivation.
Well, just last Thursday, I started thinking that maybe she wasn't getting enough to eat, so I decided to exclusively pump for a few days and give her bottles so I can measure and track her sleeping progress. She took 24 oz the first day, and only woke up once in the middle of the night to eat 4 oz. Yes!! Since then, she's been getting 24-25 oz daily spread out in 4 oz bottles and sleeping so much better and wakes up only once a night. I feel like I have my good sleeper back! She's still not STTN, but I can live with it!
My goal is to gradually increase her daytime and especially right-before-bedtime feeding so that she'll rely less and less on the middle-of-the-night feeding. Of course, I'll make sure her little body can handle it
Another thing that helped a lot is my coworker let me borrow her baby scale and I can weigh DD before I BF her and weigh her after, to make sure she's getting at least 4 oz each time. I wish I learned about the scale before!!
Thanks for reading this long post!
