D had a follow up today about the jaundice. She said he is still slightly jaundiced. I am at the lab now getting his repeat billirubin praying it has not gone up. She said if it has I may have to stop bf'ing for a lil while which will make me so sad. Please pray for my lil boy and hope this thing resolves.

He will be okay!!
Hayden had bad jaundice when he was born. Our blood was not compatable, so my cells were fighting off his cells to cut down the billirubin levels. It was soo confusing for me at the time. He was under the lights in the NICU from when he was just 12 hrs old. I was only alowed to take him out every 3 hours to nurse him, he was there for 5 days. Once we got home we had to go everyday for almost a week for blood work to make sure it was going down and so that he would not have to go back under the lights.
Im surprised that she told you that you might have to stop nursing. They had me pumping and nursing every 3 hrs even if it was just colostrum. They told me that BM helps jaundice.
You will both be in my thoughts and prayers.... keep your chin up mama he will be okay!
This is what I was told as well. Our Pedi had me nursing more frequently in order for B to pee/poop out the excess.
T&P here too!!!
Be cautious about the BF stoppage - as Ashley said, breast milk usually *helps* jaundice, unless he has a very rare kind. Even if it is that kind, you should just take a 24 hour break from BF and pump instead - it often resolves in as little as a day and then you can go back to BF if you want to.

This as well. Except when DS1 was in the hospital for jaundice I was allowed to take him from under the lights to nurse him every 2 hours.
I'd be looking for a second opinion. Doing this will not help your supply at all, you'd be at greater chance for losing it if anything and giving up all together.
Hoping the numbers are going down though.
