Pack'n'Plays and sleeping babies

We just found out last week we are having twins.  It's very exciting and overwhelming.  We are trying to find a pack'n'play however it's been difficult.  We have only seen one pnp for twins on the  market.  We want to have the babies in our bedroom with us for the first couple weeks, but any other pnp bassinet other than  the one twins pnp on the market has a weight limit of 15 lbs.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what they did when they first brought them home?

Re: Pack'n'Plays and sleeping babies

  • I have the co-sleeper which we planned on putting our boys in and sleep in our room..well that hasn't happened yet.

One of my boys might have reflux so laying him flat is not an option..he hates it and spits up. I even tried propping up one of the sides of the mattress but no luck of them sleeping in it yet.

We purchased the fisher price rock n plays and that is all they have been sleeping in. I purchased the summer infant snugglers body support to put in them and have been sleeping in the living room b/c my husband has to work..he helps when he can and for the past week we've had a night nurse coming.

I don't think the co sleeper is a waste just yet b/c it also is a pack n play for when they get older but I'm not giving up hope just yet that they will sleep in it.

You just have to see what works for them...there the boss when they come home!lol

    Good luck!

  • Congratulations!! Twins are the best and I wouldn't have it any other way. My Twins are 16 months now, but what we did was buy a regular pack and play and put them in it until they were about 4 or 5 months. This worked great for us and I could keep them close to the bed.

    Hope this works for you.

  • I have the twin pack and play. The color is brown and is very gender neutral.  It holds up to 30 lbs up to 15lbs in each bassinet.  My babies are still a few weeks away but we put the pack and plan together and it seems it will work just fine.  If not I know other mothers who just had the twins sleep together in the pack and play and did just fine.
  • We just set up one of the cribs in our room for the first couple months, and then moved it back to the nursery and separated them when it was time.  If I were to do it again, I may have done 2 co-sleepers.

I registered for 2 PNPs and received them both.  I have used them CONSTANTLY!  I bring them on play dates and can let the girls nap in them, when we go away to the summer house, when my parents take them overnight, etc.  I would get 2 and not bother with the 2 PNPs.
