I'm not CDing at the hospital. I doubt I'll want to complicate things at that point, and I worry my CDs could get accidentally thrown away. That would suck.
When DD was born we brought only KL0's and Thirsties XS covers and that was fine. We did all of her diaper changes except one (when they took her for her hearing test) and we just laid one out in her bassinet. I was not worried at all that they would throw it out.
This time we're bringing a mix of AIOs and KL0's w/covers. The AIOs will be for night time, just to make changes quicker. I didn't get any use out of my XS and most of my Small AIOs last time because I was "saving" them but DD grew out of them so fast!
personally I would not bring diapers in the hospital. Its only 48 hours and I was in a lot of pain - others helped change her. Start when you get home and settled. Plus the cord could get in the way and they check it a lot. HTH
I just used what the hospital provided - pampers. The nurses were great at changing diapers, folding them down, etc. They provide everything you need for LO - all I need was a home going outfit.
I didn't start in the hospital with DS but most likely will with #2, whenever that happens. I changed every diaper after he returned from NICU (only 6 hours). If that were to happen again, I'll probably just say to use disposables until LO is with me in the room permanently (DS never left my room after that). What I think I would do is bring AIO's and a bunch of wetbags, have DH bring home a bag each night when he leaves. I had a c-section and am pretty sure that I could have managed to CD since I did all the diaper changes with disposables. Whenever I was goign to be alone, I had DH set the diaper stuff up next to me on the table so it was all in arms reach. DS never really left my bed so he was always right there. yes, I was in pain but it didn't effect diapering.

Our hospital provided cloth...but if they hadn't, I totally could have just brought our prefolds, wipes, a snappi and a big wet bag. It was super easy (didn't even use covers).
Maybe it's dumb...but I'm really proud of the fact that DD has never had a disposable touch her bum. Even when we had to go in for catscans, the nurses let me cloth diaper her.

Same here. Our hospital only provides CDs - prefolds with a diaper pin. It was okay. Next time I would use their prefolds as liners and bring more AppleCheeks covers and us those. Saves using the diaper pins and has the hospital do the laundry for the liners.
DS has never had a sposie on him but we'll have to (unfortunately) use sposies when we head to Europe for 3 weeks in May We'll be on a cruise for 10 days and they don't have self-serve laundry on board and I do refuse to spend our time in port trying to find a laundromat.
mmc @ 14 weeks - November 2009. Missed every day.

Thanks! Right now I'm leaning toward not CDing in the hospital, I'm just trying to figure out what I would use if I did.
If you don't recommend using them in the hospital, would you bring one to take him home in or just use hospital provided disposables?

i probably will with the next one (if he/she is born in a hospital) now that i'm more confident about it. i know how to snappi now, etc.
it does not bother me that dd wore sposies for a few days though.
