Question about swings

I'm using the swing from my daughter but I can't remember soon we put her in the swing. How soon did you put your LO in the swing?

Re: Question about swings

  • Right after birth. Though we just pushed it gently because the rocking motion was too intense with the motor.

  • We didn't put DD2 into a swing until about six weeks, but that's because we didn't have it with us when we were in the States.  I would have put her in sooner.  It wasn't necessary the first few weeks of her life, because she was content to sleep anywhere.  But it would have been useful for us around 3-4 weeks.

  • I was just wondering the same thing. We didn't get one until C was 2 months old and she loved it. I'm planning on holding off for a bit and just using the bouncy chair. Some of my friends who said they used it this early said their LO's didn't like it.
  • We tried B in it right away, but he didn't like it.  It wasn't until around 5 or 6 weeks that he started to like being in the swing.
  • We put her in a swing around 3 weeks, and that's only because we hadn't bought one yet.

  • We didn't have a cradle swing at the time, so we didn't start using ours till he was a month old.

  • We put her in it right away. She seems to like it if she's drowsy but won't nod off, it helps push her over the edge into sleep. It doesn't work every day though, lol, and she will scream bloody murder is she's awake.  She also currently hates the vibrating chair no matter what her sleepy/awake state is.

  • The day we brought him home from the hospital. He slept in it the first week or so while I was recovering from the c-section. His PNP was in our bedroom, and I couldn't get into our bed. We camped out at first.
