XP: if your dc saw a gi doc, please come in

Our pedi suggested we take DD to a pediatriac GI specialist. I'm really, really nervous and scared about what this might entail. If you've been there, please tell me how it was for your child, what the tests were like, and if it helped. TIA!

  • They really didn't do anymore tests than her two previous UGI's although they did review them and pushed on her stomach which made her SCREAM!  They talked about her meds and what else we can do.  They also set an appt up for a follow up.  Although, she's 6 months now and we didn't really need it.  Usually Reflux (if that is what your DC has) starts slightly getting better about 6-7 months and then is usually resolved by 18 months.  GL!  We really liked our Pediatric GI.

  • We have our first appointment at the end of the month. We've been bringing DD to the ped. for her stomach issues since she was 5 weeks old and they were out of answers. I'm scared too...but I figure whatever tests, etc. will be worth it if it will make her feel better.
