TTC After a Loss

Just got my hospital bill

I am sooo thankful we have insurance. All they did was a blood test for my betas and do a pelvic exam. Without insurance it would have been $1,300. This seems crazy to me. Thankfully we only had to pay $100.

Re: Just got my hospital bill

  • Yeah. My copays are trickling in with ungodly totals that my insurance is covering.  hat's interesting to me is that billing is together enough to bill me then why isn't the rest of the hospital together enough to stop sending me "congratulations on your pregnancy" letters, and information about the pregnancy/birthing/parenting classes.  I hate those letters. They go straight to the burn pile.

  • Yeah I about stroked that my D&C cost $6,000 really???  Of course, we have to pay $1600 but that still peeves me off, and I am really trying hard not to be bitter!
  • Healthcare costs are utterly ridiculous!  Glad your insurance covered most of it.  We are changing insurance in a month and I am afraid the coverage wont be as good as we have now...guess we'll wait and see.  I hope your next bill is a bill for a routine prenatal visit Smile

  • Yup. What a way to tear off the bandaid again, no? I just paid my lab tests yesterday and got a notice the other day from the insurance with my ER visit, which is still pending.

*sigh* thank goodness you only had to fork over $100.

  • That stinks that bills are still trickling in for you guys. I have the same thing happen to me, too. Sometimes it is like, poof, here I am. I am lucky most of mine is covered as well, but I definitely hate the reminders. Let's all hope for happy hospital bills this year :)

  • Healthcare costs are outrageous!  When I got my bill for Eliott's delivery, it was over $20,000.  I was so thankful I have insurance - I can't imagine paying that along with dealing with a loss.

  • Hospital bills suck!  Mine were over 12,000 for my surgery & hospitalization and I was out of pocket over 2,000.  The best part was the bill arrived the week before Christmas.  Thank's for reminding me that I'm not a mom.  Even more than you for partialy sterilizing me with your crappy salpingectomy instead of a salpingotomy.

but i can afford another two years, and i know (even though i hope to not need it) that the fertility program is worth it in it of itself
