I know some of you are probably swimming in craft ideas, but we did one today at the library.
Take a round aluminum pie pan (sort of like a takeout container). Sprinkled it with some beads and DD's initials (foam letters). Fill with water and put a string in it in a loop so that it will hang.
Then you freeze in the fridge or outside, pop it out of the pan and hang as a suncatcher. Sort of cute, although I haven't seen the final product yet.
I was thinking it might be cute to freeze diff color ice cubes beforehand and use those (like stained glass), but not sure if adding water would make them melt together before freezing.
Also I probably want to keep track of all the beads/etc when it melts, but maybe I'll hang it on our porch or something, just so I can get it when it melts (not sure if wildlife would try to eat the beads).
