TTC After a Loss

Hi there... switching boards

Cliff notes on me -I'm 43  and DH is 40.  I've been trying to conceive since April 08. We tried the first year on our own then I realized it wasn't going to happen.  Started the process of RE and IVF.  We got pregnant with ivf Nov. 09 then m/c Dec.09.  We got pregnant on our own in March 2010 then m/c in May. Got pregnant again on our own in August then m/c again in October.

So with 3 losses I feel this may be a better board for me than TTC after 35.

I've took Clomid Nov & Dec with no luck. I'm hoping January will be the month. Given my history, I get pregnant every 3 months but I m/c around 8 weeks.

?? - can clomid cause your periods to be longer?  AF has short visits with me, 2 days however she's been visiting since Sunday. Not heavy but still here.  Is this normal?

Thanks for listening and I hope to get to know you girls on this board.

  • I'm sorry you had to end up here.  I hope your stay is as short as possible.  Clomid can make your period longer.  Especially in women who O on their own already, Clomid produces a "stronger" O which should lead to a better/more implantable lining.  It is a positive thing that you are bleeding longer/heavier on Clomid as in some women it can thin lining.

  • Thanks Baby T.

I've been debating on calling the Dr to see if something is wrong. I actually start Clomid again tomorrow for 5 days. By tracking days, this should be a good month for DH and me.
