Parenting after a Loss

Travel Question

We are going to FL in March, and I was wondering how the car seat situation goes?  DD will be almost 4 months then, should we take our car seat with the base, just the car seat, or should we take a convertible car seat that we are planning on getting?  We have about an 1 1/2 hour drive each way once in FL.

Thanks!

Re: Travel Question

  • I suggest you take the infant car seat. When we have traveled with DS, we've taken the car seat and snap n go and also an infant carrier (we have a Beco Gemini). It gives us some options. We gate check the car seat and snap n go. The nice part about the bucket car seat, especially at that age, is that you can use a regular shoulder seat belt to secure him in any car, and if he falls asleep, you can snap him into whatever stroller system you use vs unbuckling him from the convertible car seat.

If you plan to purchase a seat for him (or if there's room on the plane), you'll just take the car seat right onto the plane with you.

  • I would vote convertible car seat. DS hated the infant car seat and was much happier in his convertible seat. GL!
