I need to preface this by saying that I've already ordered and returned three bedding sets, and this is my last hope before I decide to make my own (hahahaha).... I'm becoming totally obsessed with this nursery. I think we may go with this set:
Don't know if I posted the link right, so in case you can't see it, it's lavender and mint green with a couple of dragonfly designs... very simple.
Now, questions... our furniture is white and we have lots of it. We have white trim (?) that goes around the middle of the room. DH wants to paint the bottom half of the room a darker purple and the top half lavender. We're ordering a totally upholstered glider, so no wood showing. What color would you go with for the chair? The bedding has a tiny bit of brown accent, so I was thinking a light brown or tan? What color would you paint the room with all that white furniture? One solid color or split it into two colors?
Just curious to get other people's opinions, thanks!
Re: Paint/furniture opinions please!
I like your DH's idea of the two shades of purple for the walls. For the glider I think a light brown or tan would be great. I got a fully upholstered glider in a brown because I figured we could move it to the living room after we were done in baby's room (which we did). That might be another thing to think about when picking that color.
How fun that you are getting to pick everything out right now! I will have to be happy helping people on here until Feb. 2. ;o)
Cute bedding AND cute baby name...I considered both the bedding and the name
I personally would do the combo dark and light purple paint split by the white trim...but make sure they are rich colors and one is not too too light and will wash into the white. I would also say the light tan/khaki glider
Just my humble opinion...
ok, I tried to work some photoshopping magic for you. This is not good...but hopefully it'll help give an idea of what it will look like. The colors are obviously kinda bright here, but you get the idea. I like the idea of the split colors. I think a darker chair, like dark brown, will look nice and help even out the brightness of the room. VERY cute bedding btw!
I like the idea of the two-toned. It is what we did.
I had purchased the fabric to make our own, but when I found this set on clearance at Buy Buy Baby for 50, I changed my mind.

The curtains are cream, but the cornice box is a chocolate background and 3 different shades of green bamboo/leaf print. We painted the lower portion of the wall the darkest green and the upper portion of the wall the lightest green. Our furniture is dark chocolate. As for a rocker, we are going to purchase a completely covered rocking chair so we can use it elsewhere in our house. Since the room is empty at the moment and the curtains and the chair rail have not been put up it looks at little crazy. I know that once everything is in there it will be fine. You mentioned that you have a lot of white furniture, so even if you do a dark purple on the bottom, it should not be overwhelming. We started with just painting the bottom portion dark green (about the color of grass) and were going to leave the upper portion of the wall tan, but I hated it and had to paint the top light green! Hope this helps!
As far as the color of the rocker goes, I would agree with PP and consider something that will work in other areas of your home
