Infertility

WTF was THIS morning! (kinda long) Sorry

First of all I wanted to say I am still in awe of the overwhelming response to my fert report post yesterday. Thank you all for being the wonderful women that you are! My DH and I are so appreciative of the love and support!

As you know my WTF was suppose to be next Wednesday, however, they got us in this morning. I still can't believe it!

So as of yesterday with 0 fertilization they thought it was a sperm problem and told us we needed to probably start considering DS but we'd know more at our WTF. They said with ICSI something should have taken so it must be his sperm that's a problem. Well, we were shocked. All along the problem has been with me, never DH. To find out it was prob the both of us, wow. We spent the day in each others arms crying... all day... literally.

Today's appointment brought us different news. The doc says after getting the lab reports back it seems it might be a mixture of an egg issue and sperm (but more egg); 70% egg issue only 30% sperm. Out of my 3 eggs retrieved that were "mature", turns out only 1 was mature and the other 2 matured over night! DH's count was 15mil, morph 6%. So his count was down a little from his SA but the morph had improved. They're afraid that the treatments I was on for my cancer has affected my eggs. But they don't feel we need to move on to DE... yet. (and DS is not a topic of discussion anymore, for now) I do have some good eggs still but just not as good or as many as initially thought. So, they feel like if they change my meds and help me to produce more eggs that they will have more to choose from, if that makes since. Oh and also next time for my ER they are either going to give me pain meds since I was awake the last time or they are going to do it in the OR and put me totally under. We'll decide that later.

So the plan is BCP, Lupron, and Follistim but upping my dose in hopes of making more follies/eggs. Sorry to ramble. It's a lot to take in. I'm going to start bcp the first day of AF and start Lupron around the 9th.

Thanks again! Love u ALL!

But, honestly, even my dr said today, I've been through a lot the past few years. I don't ever do anything the easy way lol. I know I keep saying this, but I really mean it... you and all of the ladies on this board have been a God send for me! I'm so thankful to have this as a 2nd home! xo
