I live in Shrewsbury, it's the first exit in PA when you go north of Balt on 83. I see that there are diaper services for Pittsburg, Philidelphia, and Lancaster, but I haven't found any for my area.
Know of any?
I'm not even sure we'll use cloth diapers, but I'm looking into it.
TIA!
Re: Southern PA diaper service?
You could contact Modern Diaper Service, but it looks like the farthest north they go is Baltimore County... https://www.moderndiaperservice.com/ourservicearea.html
FWIW, it looks like they only offer the pre-folds and one cover. So even if you were going to use cloth diapers a diaper service isn't necessarily going to offer you a good trial run because there are SEVERAL different styles/types of cloth diapers (all-in-ones, pockets, pre-folds with covers).
Good luck!
check and see if the Lancaster service would come to you. Or check and see if Metropolitan Diaper service would come to you- they serve Baltimore and DC from what I gather.
From what I gather you have to buy certain items (covers and snappis) if you use a service and you are usually limited in the type of diaper (prefolds- which are the simplest diapers to wash and cheapest type of diapers to buy- but some people also find them intimidating- they aren't as easy/similar in style to disposables as pockets, all-in-ones, etc.)
I CD our DS and I started with cloth when DD was 2 months old or so- I have never used a service though, always washed my own.
If you want to know more about Cd'ing I would check out the Eco-friendly-family board. I found it very helpful when I started using cloth.
sorry- I didn't see that madlady posted.
I also wanted to suggest that there are some cloth diaper online sites that offer trial packages so you can try a variety of styles and brands of diapers, return what you don't want, etc.
