OK so what about #2 waking up #1??

Like at night when they wake up?? Nora's room will be right across from the baby's room, and our room is kitty corner from theirs, so even if the baby is sleeping in our room she'll likely be able to hear when the baby wakes up. For some reason, I am stressing about this and not sure how I'll handle it. Is it really a big deal or do they not even hear the crying???

  • It was never an issue. The big girls just didn't seem to hear the crying. If it becomes a problem, you could put a white noise machine in N's room.

  • I hear they don't wake each other up.  I hope not b/c I'm guessing they'll both be in our bed.

  • We live in a tiny 2br apartment and so far #2 hasn't woken up #1 at night.  I have a friend who was in a 1br, so everyone was sleeping in the same room, and #2 hardly ever woke up #1.
  • *whew* OK this is making me feel better. Thanks ladies!

  • Me too.  I have been stressing b/c the kid's rooms are next door to each other and our room is just across the hall.
  • it was never an issue with my 3 older kids...and once in awhile Michelle would wake up my older girls but for the most part it was not an issue.

  • Stan and McKenna share a room as of now (we have a 2 bedroom house) and it's never been an issue. Except if he sick but thats b/c he doesn't sleep to well when he's sick...
  • Joey never wakes up because Allie is crying.  I have to worry about #1 waking up #2 because lately he climbs up on her crib and pinches her.  Ugh....  We're in the pinching stage right now.

  • I have never had an issue.  DS1 is always good and asleep before DS2 wakes up.  Their doors face each other, but we keep them closed all night and have a monitor in our room for DS2.  Also, the minute I hear a whimper from DS2, I fly to his room!

  • Never an issue for us.  What *is* an issue though (and sucks) is now that they're both a little older, they hear ANY noise the other one makes.  If one of them happens to cough or sneeze at 4 am, the other one hears it and thinks it's time to get up and play.  I don't know if it's b/c they're so excited to see each other in the morning or what...but it can be exhausting!
  • My girls share a room and don't wake each other up for the most part.  DD#2 is still not STTN (though she's done it a few times recently so I'm hopeful).  DD#1 doesn't wake up to her crying unless she's ready to get up.  Whoever gets up first in the morning usually gets the other up or at naptime, but not so much in the middle of the night.  They can sleep through almost anything when they're out cold.  :-)
