Yesterday I posted about how I walked in on a shouting match between DCP and another parent (a dad). Well, as I suspected, when the mom arrived to pick up her son yesterday, she tried to manipulate DCP into feeling bad for holding her ground and standing up for herself. And she was just going off on DCP and being ridiculous and rude and hostile.
DCP told me this morning that for the 2 years they've been with her, they've held it over her head that they had no problem trying to find another DCP if she wouldn't do everything they asked. So I guess this mom tried to bluff and say, "Well this will be DS' last day here. I want my deposit back." And DCP was like, "Sorry to hear that, but according to the contract you signed, the deposit is payable for the last week of care and since you owe me a week's notice and haven't paid for this week, you aren't getting your deposit back." And the mom started getting beligerent and finally DCP just said, "Listen, you need to get out of my house right now."
Not to be selfish, but this is actually great for me because I was concerned about DCP because this family was the other family who was expecting a baby at the same time as me, and DCP was going to have 2 infants exactly the same age in addition to DS and a few other toddlers. So I'm kind of relieved that it won't be so much chaos now that this family is gone.
Re: Update to awkward DCP moment from yesterday
Good for her. I have a wonderful DCP and I make sure to treat her with respect and care. I don't understand why people don't recognize that you need to be good to your childcare provider.
