Should I sell my Kelty?

DH is a big hiker, so I bought him a Kelty for Father's Day one year envisioning family hiking outings. Well, DD was born in May, so the first summer of her life she was way too little to just stick in a Kelty and go out in the wild. The next summer, we only used it once or twice and not for long distance hikes. We probably would have been fine with the Ergo in those cases. And this past year, she didn't want to be worn for long periods of time at all, preferring to walk everywhere, thus dashing our hopes of doing any long-distance hikes with her.

Now I've got this huge, structured carrier sitting on the floor of my bedroom that I don't know what to do with. If we have another child, I imagine it will be even harder to go hiking with a toddler in tow. So, should I just sell it? And how much would be reasonable to ask for it? It's in excellent condition.

  • how much did you buuy it for?

i know nothing about the kelty, but my husband insists on getting a structured carrier!

  • I think I paid $150-$175 for it. It was a lot more than my Ergo and other carriers, but DH's previous investments in hiking gear made it seem like a reasonable expense at the time.
