I was always under the impression that these were fine to eat as long as they were pasteurized. I eat feta and goat cheese all.the.time. My friend who recently had a baby, said that even if it's pasteurized, you're still not supposed to eat it. Thoughts?
Re: Goat and Feta cheese?
It's fine if it's pasturized.
And honestly, almost all cheese in the US is. I have had people look at me like I have two heads several times now when I checked to see if brie and goat cheese were pasturized. Both Whole Foods and a restaurant here in town told me they aren't even allowed to serve anything unpasturized.
Yes, I have a blog and it's hilarious (except when it's not)
Haha - I love it but it's so true
OP, yep, you're fine if it's pasteurized.
I agree, if it doens't specifically say pasteurized I don't eat it and I LOVE goat cheese but can't seem to find any that say pasteurized at my food store. :-(
That's so weird. Usually the first ingredient listed will be "pasteurized milk."
