Spotting :(

Sorry if this is asked often but I would love to hear about everyone elses experiences with spotting.  I had a little spotting last Sun that went away after a few hours. My Dr. ordered an u/s tues and both babies looked great.  This morning I woke up to spotting again but it is lasting longer. It's not a lot but it is red and pink.  I called my Dr. this morning and he just said rest, fluids and to come in on Mon. I hate this!!  Any reassurance would be greatly appreciated!!

Re: Spotting :(

  • I have read that spotting is a lot more common in twin pregnancies. I had spotting from implantation up until 8 weeks. Try not to stress too much!

  • I had spotting once at 18 weeks, it lasted only an hour, very light, and was red not brown. We went in anyway and everything was fine and has been fine since then. The dr told me its not something "normal" but doesn't necessarily mean its anything to get too concerned about unless it continues or gets heavier.

  • I had spotting at 12 weeks and called the Dr.  He said that is very common.  Just do as your dr. says and don't worry about it too much.  Easier said than done, right?

  • Yep...I had spotting right around 10 weeks as well.  I think it's fairly common.

  • i had spotting at 13w with the twins - they did an US and all was fine.... never had it again after that weekend.

it sucks- esp that early on b/c there's nothing they can do to help - other than fluids and rest.... so try not to worry- know that spotting is really common with twin pg's.... and say a lot of prayers. That's how I got through those rough times.

  • I too had spotting around 9 ish weeks.  I went in for an ultrasound and everything was ok..  The doc said with twin pregnancy you are expanding faster and can sometimes cause light spotting.  Like the girls have said follow the instructions-fluids-lots of rest and see the doc Monday.  Hope all goes well!

  • I had bleeding around 7 weeks and 10 weeks.  It was gushes of red blood, and not spotting.  Both times I was completely panicked (of course) and was sure I was having a miscarriage.  Fortunately, both times the babies were fine.  After bleeding at 10 weeks, I continued to spot until I was 12 weeks.
