Re: mn for Lexi

  • Please don't name your child Lexi. It's barely a real name--find something more formal she can put on a resume and call her Lexi at home if you love it that much.
  • Lexi Jane, Lexi Alynn, Lexi Victoria, Lexi Brielle

  • We had some friends who had a baby girl in October, and they named her Alexis Ann (or Anne).  They call her Lexi though.

I know that if I had a baby girl in the future that I would name her Alexa Grace or Alexandra Grace, but I would call her Lexi.  It is one of my favorite names.

  • Well, seeing as how I have this barely real name, I would suggest Elizabeth, since it's my middle name :) My name spelled: Lexie, my maiden name is 3 syllables, and my married name is 2 :) My Mom wanted to call me Lexie, and didn't want people to shorten Alexandria to Alex, Plus my Name would have been a zillion letters long, so she named me what she wanted me called, and I love it... Seriously, if people can name their kids Apple, and other strange things, then you can name your baby w/e you want... Who's to say if it's a "real" name or not... lol, if someone is named something, it's really their name... :)

lol, this is my favorite rationalization ever. Of course people CAN name their kids whatever they want. That doesn't mean they should.

I personally am a fan of giving kids a formal name so they have options instead of naming them a nickname, but I don't think its the end of the world to go the nickname route.
